well, just what happened just now set me thinking... what is the most important thing between parents and children. what if one day, you really have to hang out in the library till very late just in order to complete this project which is due the next day. you can't sumbit a piece of work that meets the basic wants of the teacher, you get a straight 0. you are in the library busy doing the work, trying to get it done as soon as possible... then all of a sudden, your handphone rings. although you know that you should not use the handphone in the library, you could not longer care, because it was from your mum. you know she is going to be worried, therefore, you had no choice but to pick it up. the first thing your mum ask is " where are you ? why are you not back yet ? its already 8 plus " therefore, you explain the whole matter to her. she sounds uncertain over the phone, but decided not probe anymore futher because she can hear the irritated mood in your voice.

The next time you do that, what will your mum's reaction be ?
1. Scream at you over the phone regardless where you are .
2. Immediately jump to the conclusion that you are hanging out with gangsters.
3. Thinks that you are hanging at shopping malls, wasting your time.
4. Believes in you and encourages you on as you continue with your project.

Well, if your answer is 1, then most probably, your mum is very worried about your safety but at the same time, uncertain.
But if your answer is 2 and 3, well, i sugges that you should build up the trust between you two.
However, if its 4, your relationship with your mum is perfectly FINE !

Well, this is just an example. I personally feel that trust takes time to build. When the trust is gone, the relationship will turn sour. As long as you tell the truth to your parents everytime, and tell them where you are going, they will not be worried, and therefore, trust you. Everything takes time. But trust is something worth your time. Trust is like one of the pillars of your life, without it, no matter how hard you try to convince others of something, the chances of them believing in you is low. Do think about TRUST ... its important...
